Morning News Fix: Trial for former county judge begins

1. The trial for former Smith County judge, Joel Baker is set to begin this morning. A jury pool will be narrowed down to just six jurors to decide whether Baker violated the Texas Open Meetings Act. The three charges stem from a now-suspended contract with American Traffic Solutions to deploy speed monitoring cameras in county school zones.

4. Good Morning East Texas Meteorologist Cedric Haynes is tracking a cold front that is moving through the region this morning. Look for mostly cloudy skies today, with a northerly breeze kicking in. That means a slightly cooler day, with highs only in the mid to upper 50s. Tonight, we're expecting mostly cloudy skies. Some patchy fog may develop by morning.
