Mixed Results For East Texas Baseball And Softball Teams

Carthage lost the coin flip, but won the game.  Princeton's decision to take their chances against the Bulldogs in a one game series backfired as Carthage won 7-1.  They now await the winner of the Lindale versus Van Alstyne series.  Lindale leads that series 1-0 with a 3-0 win Thursday. 

Grand Saline jumped out to the 1-0 lead but fall 2-1 to Woodville.  The winner of that series takes on the winner of the New Diana versus Franklin series.  New Diana won game one 5-4.

Harelton played a doubleheader tonight against Archer City in 1A ball.  They won game one 14-2, then turned around and took game two 6-4 to advance to the regional finals.  They wait for the winner of the Union Hill versus Windthorst series.

In softball, Quitman dream run in the playoffs came to an end.  The fell 1-0 to Elysian Fields.
