Longview's Mayoral Candidates Disagree On Campaign Strategies

A promise of clean campaigning is getting a little dirty in Longview, according to one of the men running for mayor. The race will be decided June 11th.

Questions for Dr. Andy Mack over money raised for Lear Park won't go away. There are now anti-Mack bumper stickers that can be seen around town. His opponent, Jay Dean, says though he's not responsible for the questions and the stickers, it's just part of any campaign.

"In my opinion as a servant leader, as Mayor of Longview, you shouldn't get upset when you're questioned. Answer the question, don't get upset," says Dean.

"What takes place, we are responsible for. My campaign has been absolutely on the level. We have not sent a single letter to the editor degrading anyone's character. We're focused on the positive issues of me and not the negative issues of my opponent," says Dr. Mack.

Early voting begins June 1st and continues through the 7th.
