EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

Fairly nice weather is expected through the afternoon hours on Friday, but then the changes begin.

An area of low pressure is going to move across the State of Texas beginning tomorrow, will slowly move across the Upper Texas Coast over the weekend and into early next week which will bring an abundance of moisture into our area in the form of rain...heavy rain. Rainfall totals from Friday night through Monday are likely to be in the 2.00"-4.00" range with some over the southern sections of East Texas nearing 5.00"+. For this reason, we are declaring Saturday, Sunday and Monday as First Alert Weather Days. There could be an isolated thunderstorm during this time period, but we are looking for the greatest risk during this period to be Flash Flooding. Please be aware of what is happening in your area throughout this period as rivers, lakes, streams may swell and cause some flooding issues.

Temperatures are going to be fairly mild on Friday, starting off a bit cool, but by afternoon highs are expected to be in the middle 60s. Over the weekend, temperatures will remain quite chilly due to all of the rain in the area. Lows in the middle 40s and highs only recovering into the lower 50s, and maybe the middle 50s on Monday.
