EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Good Tuesday morning, East Texas. We are keeping any eye on an unstable weather pattern today, so stay tuned to KLTV 7 for the latest on any weather developments that could affect your day.
Here are some stories for you to check out to jump start this blustery Tuesday:
1. Officers responded to a report of a robbery early Tuesday morning at the Lavanderia Express in the 1200 block of S. Vine in Tyler. When police arrived at the scene, the cashier told officers that three armed black males walked into the business and demanded money. No one was injured during the robbery, and Tyler police are asking anyone with information to contact the department as soon as possible.
2. Therapet is a Tyler organization that uses animals to bring comfort and relief to those in places like hospitals, prisons and schools.
Monday, their dogs were at the Tyler Pounds Regional Airport, and they showed how they could help put travelers at ease.
3. According to a new survey, nearly a third of Americans think conversations on politics and family finances should be kept far away from Thanksgiving celebrations. The survey also reveals that 71 percent of Americans say they're most grateful for their family. That ranks above other Thanksgiving favorites like food, football and Black Friday shopping.
4. And last, but definitely not least, we have to talk about weather this morning. KLTV 7 Meteorologist Cedric Haynes says Tuesday has been declared a 'First Alert' weather day. Cloudy skies and breezy conditions will hang around East Texas for our Tuesday. An isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out through the morning and midday hours on Tuesday, although the greatest threat for rain and storms will arrive after 6 p.m. Tuesday, in the region.
