EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Happy Friday, East Texas! Looks like we have a little rain and some much cooler temps heading our direction. That will be a nice change heading into the weekend!
Here are some stories for you to check out today:
1. Dozens of candles flickered in the darkness as Texas A&M University students, faculty, alumni, and community members gathered early Friday on the College Station campus to mark the 17th anniversary of a deadly bonfire collapse.
2. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, check out the festivities at Breckenridge Village's 11th annual Christmas in the Village. There will be games, Christmas shopping, a live nativity, and of course Santa Claus!
3. Some East Texas students are helping make it a Merry Christmas for thousands of kids around the world. The project at Grace Community School is part of Operation Christmas Child, and they are celebrating 20 years of packing shoeboxes with small items for those in need.

4. Your early morning temperatures will likely be the daytime highs for your Friday. A strong cold front is moving through the area this morning, leading to a band of showers moving thru the region. This afternoon, look for clearing skies and blustery conditions. Temps will likely fall this afternoon into the upper 50s and lower 60s. The winds will increase quite a bit by the afternoon out of the northwest 20 mph or even higher. Make sure take the hoodies and sweaters out the door with you. Your Friday night football forecast will feature mainly clear skies, but breezy and chilly temps! Kickoff numbers will be in the mid-50s, falling into the 40s by the end of the games. High pressure will lead to much cooler conditions for the weekend. Watch KLTV7 Midday at noon for the latest update from Meteorologist Cedric Haynes.
