Workers Scrambling To Repair Overnight Sewer Spill

Crews are out this morning in Morris County, trying to repair a massive spill at a local sewer.

Officials say last night, a force main broke on Highway 259 near Lone Star, spilling 110,000 gallons of wastewater.

As workers continue trying to contain the leak, officials ask that residents avoid swimming and fishing in ponds, lakes, or streams that may have been affected by the spill.

Residents are also asked to wash their hands thoroughly both before preparing food and after any contact with animals or soil in the area.
