EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - We will be waking up to a good amount of sunshine this morning as compared to yesterday when we had a blanket of clouds overhead.
The fact that we will see more sunshine today will lead to temperatures being a tad warmer this afternoon, with highs topping out in the lower 80's.
Overnight, we will see a few passing clouds, otherwise fair skies expected. Lows near 60.
Our only chance for rain this week will be late Wednesday and into early Thursday for areas mainly north of Interstate 30. A weak cool front will approach the Red River and send a weakening storm complex south toward the state line. It is possible a few of these showers and storms could clip the Sulphur Springs and Mount Pleasant areas during the overnight hours, but the odds of rain is only 20%.
Meanwhile, everyone else will be staying dry for the foreseeable future as high pressure builds overhead. This will keep us dry with partly cloudy skies in place. This ridge of high pressure will also keep our main storm track to the north, which is why we do not have any major cold fronts headed our way in the near future.
Look for the partly cloudy, warm, and dry conditions to prevail through the weekend and into Halloween night next Monday.
