TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

In the middle of all this football talk, we can't ignore the fact that basketball season is fast approaching. Stephen F. Austin held its media day last week, and on Tuesday it was Region XIV's turn.

Tyler Junior College hosted the event at Wagstaff Gymnasium, where the conference preseason poll was revealed in front of the coaches from each school. To no one's surprise, Trinity Valley was picked to win the league on the women's side, and the Cardinal men also placed first in the East Zone.

As for TJC, the women were picked second, and the men were fifth in the East Zone.

The league is full of East Texas schools which makes it fun, but also challenging.
