EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

Good Monday afternoon, East Texas. We've been working on several local news stories today along with state and national news.

Here are a few stories for you to check out this afternoon:

1. Authorities say the suspect in an armed robbery in Longview this morning was dressed in a hoodie, a dark shirt with a Nike symbol on it, shorts and a clown mask.

Full story

2. For the past 15 months, 24-year-old Haley Smith has documented her body transformation on social media through a series of photos at the gym and on the scale.  Through P90X and proper meal portions, Smith dropped more than 100 pounds just in time for her wedding.

Full story

3. With Halloween just around the corner, clown masks will no longer be available online nor in the brick-and-mortar Targets. The retail giant made the call out of “sensitivity to the issue at hand,” the representative said.

Full story

4. We are looking for partly cloudy, warm and windy conditions today and tomorrow, partly cloudy, warm and a bit less breezy on Wednesday and then a major change in the weather comes to East Texas on Thursday as a cold front moves through our area. A few showers may develop late Wednesday as the cold front approaches, but better chances for showers and a few isolated thunderstorms will likely occur on Thursday as it moves through. Skies should then be clear from Thursday night through Monday of next week. Watch KLTV7 News at 5 and 6 for the latest update from Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto.

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>

The last time we talked about the Kilgore Bulldogs, quarterback Buddy Jackson and wide receiver Jonathan Shepherd were apart of the 800-meter relay team that won gold at the 2017 state track meet. But today they are back in the pads, and looking to turn their speed into touchdowns.  Competing in District 9-4A, Kilgore has always had a strong run game that helped them become the 2016 District Champs.
