EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Good Morning East Texas! Hope your Thursday is off to a great start. A little warm for fall, but we hear changes are on the way. Fingers crossed.
Here are some stories to check out this morning:
1. Narcotics investigators with the Henderson County Sheriff's Department arrested a 46-year-old man at the Country Side Inn in Malakoff Wednesday. Michael Gossett was initially sought for an outstanding warrant, but investigators found him with suspected methamphetamine.
2. Work to put up a Vietnam Veterans Wall in an East Texas city has started. Those putting up the plates, like Vietnam vet Billy Clay, told us about the long road to honor those who've paid the ultimate sacrifice.
3. Forecasters say Hurricane Matthew could reach much of the Florida coast Thursday night, possibly becoming a category 4 storm with 145 mph winds. Florida's governor warned residents who need to evacuate that time is running out.
4. Look for partly cloudy skies. Warm and humid. Highs climb into the upper 80s to near 90. This afternoon will feature just a slight chance for a few pop up showers and storms across the region. A stronger cold front will move into the area by Friday morning, increasing the chance for a few showers slightly, Friday morning, followed by another blast of Fall like air. The weekend will feature plenty of sunshine with highs falling back down into the 70s amd lower 80s, with morning lows back into the 50s!
