Morning news fix: Fatal shooting investigated

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

Good morning East Texas. Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

Here are some stories for you to check out this morning:

1. Palestine police are investigating a Monday night shooting that left one man dead. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken by ambulance to Palestine Regional Medical Center, where he was late pronounced dead.

Full story

2. In our weekly AP fact check, Donald Trump compared the 1990s to the Great Depression, split hairs on his history with bankruptcy and equated his efforts to pay as little as possible in personal income tax to a legal duty. These deviations from the truth came Monday during a rally speech in Pueblo, Colorado.

Full story

3. The  Alaska TV reporter who famously rage-quit her job live on the air in a clip that went viral went on to run a marijuana dispensary. Now, Charlene Egbe is facing more than 50 years in prison.

Full story

4. We stick with mostly sunny skies for our Tuesday. We will also become a bit breezy, with winds increasing out of the south anywhere from 10-20 mph, allowing for temps to climb into the upper 80s. Clouds will begin to increase along with humidity levels by Wednesday and Thursday. Look for partly cloudy skies. Warm and humid. Highs climb into the upper 80s. Wednesday & Thursday will feature just a slight chance for a few pop up showers and storms across the region. A stronger cold front will move into the area by Friday morning, increasing the chance for scattered showers and storms Friday, followed by another blast of Fall like air. Watch KLTV 7 Midday news for the latest update from Good Morning East Texas Meteorologist Cedric Haynes.
