Officers Donate Blood For Deputy Shot In Courthouse Shooting

Peace officers and supporters continue to give to help the Smith County Sheriff's Deputy wounded in the Smith County Courthouse shooting.

Deputy Sherman Dollison was shot four times and continues to recover from the February shooting. Wednesday, he was at the monthly meeting of the Smith County Peace Officer's Association.

There, law enforcement and others rolled up their sleeves to give blood to replenish the many units used by Dollison during his recovery, and to help other officers who might need blood in the future.

Lt. Charlie Baker, Smith County Sheriff's Department: "The support from the community to Officer Dollison along with law enforcement has been overwhelming. It's very comforting to know the citizens of Smith County have that much trust in us."

If you want to donate blood specifically for Deputy Dollison, you can do that at Stewart Regional Blood Center. Just specify your donation to the "Sherman Dollison Replacement Account."
