Two Officers Retire In Longview

A special goodbye was given today for two Longview police officers who have spent their entire careers with the department. Sergeant John Thompson is retiring after 30 plus years of service. Officer Kenny Jernigan served 20 years. In front of fellow officers and family, both men reflected on their years of experience.

"I've just enjoyed being here for 30 years, its been a privilege," says Thompson.

"I'll take the memories with me. I'll be taking the experience and knowledge and looking forward to somewhat retiring," Jernigan said.

Both officers were presented commemorative plaques for their years of service to the city.
