State senator wants new open carry law for businesses

An East Texas law enforcement agency says it's dealing with lots of cases involving people with mental health issues and they're having to work hard to come up with the best way to take care of their needs.  Erika Bazaldua has a new report at 10 on the challenges of incarcerating inmates with special needs.

East Texas state senator Bob Hall says businesses that don't allow open carry should be held responsible if a licensed gun holder is injured on their property. Skylar Gallop spent today talking with Hall and East Texas attorneys about what this type of legislation would mean.  Her new report is at 10.

Also at 10, Hunter Sowards has a new report about a plaque commemorating an East Texas school's segregated history.  Folks in Nacogdoches have different opinions about whether it's appropriate for the plaque to still be housed at the school students use today.
