By this time next year, the latest addition to UT-Tyler will be in its permanent home. Tuesday, administration broke ground on the same spot the 10,000 square foot University of Texas Health Clinic will be built. The UT Health Clinic will sit on the corner of University Boulevard and Patriot Drive. Right now, it's operating out of a temporary building on campus and has been a big hit, especially among the students.
"Our students have been asking for additional healthcare services to be available. So we're really trying to respond to their requests and this new health clinic will certainly do that," says Rodney Mabry, President of University of Texas at Tyler.
The health clinic will also serve faculty and the public. It's expected to be complete by March 2006.
