Tuesday's Weather: Sunny and hot with highs in the upper 90s, feeling like low 100s

Sunshine is back and so is the heat for our Tuesday.

A ridge in the jet stream has been parked over the central plains for the past two days, and it will stay there through the end of the week. Under this ridge, the air is sinking in the atmosphere, keeping our skies clear and our temperatures high.

We'll start our Tuesday morning in the upper 70s, but it won't take long to heat up. By 11 a.m., we'll warm into the low 90s. Our highs will reach the upper 90s to low 100s this afternoon. When you factor in the humidity, it's going to feel more like 102-105 outside.

If you need to go for a run or take your dog on a walk, try to get this done early in the morning, or later in the evening. We'll cool into the 80s after the sun sets around 8:15 p.m.

The sunny and hot weather will stick around through the end of the week, with lows in the upper 70s and highs in the upper 90s.

By Friday, that ridge will start to break down, just enough to allow the chance for a few showers in our forecast. Isolated showers will stay in the forecast this weekend into the start of next week.

Have a great day!
