Shooting Suspect Arraigned

In a wheelchair and with a black eye this morning, the man police say shot at them during a hostage standoff Saturday night, appeared in court.

It seemed he did not remember the ordeal. "I don't understand. I don't even know what happened sir," says Mark Anthony Munn to Justice of the Peace B.H. Jamerson.

Munn was formally arraigned this morning in Gregg county. His memory loss today may be because of his blood alcohol level from Saturday night. Hospital records show it was an astounding .43. That's more than 5 times the legal limit.

Our reporter Bob Hallmark was there when Munn shot at police. Earlier in the night, police got a call about a domestic dispute at that house on Wilson street. Police say Munn was holding a woman and a 9 year old boy inside. They were finally let go, unharmed.

The SWAT team distracted Munn by throwing a flash device in the home, but that started a fire. Police were then forced to go in.

Munn is charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault of a peace officer, possession of a firearm and assault, and family violence.
