A fundraiser was held today in Hallsville to give an East Texas teenager, hope for a brighter future. 14 year old Michael Watson is a student at Hallsville Junior High, and suffers from Dystonia. It's a brain disorder that robs its victims of motor skills and has kept Michael wheelchair-bound since childhood.
The fundraiser at Mulberry Springs Baptist Church was one of many, in an attempt to raise money for a 150-thousand dollar operation. The procedure, called deep brain stimulation, could give Michael the chance to walk again.
Michael's parents say it's a chance to give him what they want most, a normal life.
