CenterPoint Backs Out Of Town Hall Meeting

They've backed out! CenterPoint Energy told the City of Tyler they won't be coming to a scheduled town hall meeting next week to talk about rising gas bills.

The public event would have given residents and rate payers a chance to speak their concerns.

"I think this is outrageous that CenterPoint is arrogant enough to believe that they don't have to answer to the people of the city of Tyler. They are content to just play the lobby game in Austin and I guess they believe that that game is stacked in their favor, that they don't have to answer their customers. It is really outrageous that they would do this," says Mayor Joey Seeber.

Mayor Joey Seeber says the meeting will go on without CenterPoint on April 28th.

The meeting will be held at First Christian Church in Tyler at 4202 South Broadway.

The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m.
