Police say human error caused a Tyler school bus to crash into a utility pole Tuesday morning. The TISD bus driver has been suspended for three days and will have to be re-trained.
Three people were on board, including an elementary school student and the driver's monitor. None were injured.
A Tyler police sergeant happened to be driving behind the bus on its way to school. He says the driver started drifting into the opposite lane, before crashing head-on into the pole.
The driver had blamed the accident on problems with the steering and brakes. But police found no evidence of that.
