Better East Texas: Do the Clintons play by their own rules?

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Recently, Hillary Clinton was cleared of any legal wrongdoing in the investigation of her practice of using a private email server.

The investigation by the FBI, concluded that Clinton was extremely careless but not criminal in her activity surrounding the server. Clinton has softly admitted it was a mistake to use the server but maintained that others in similar positions had done likewise. Which could be case, but it goes back to old saying of jumping off a bridge because others have done it.

It was still very wrong and against the policies of our government and put many secrets at risk. The FBI took the easy way out by not recommending charges. The optics get worse when you backup a week before the decision when we found out that former President Bill Clinton met one-on-one with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch on a private plane in Arizona.

While both maintained that the meeting was mostly personal in nature, this really looks bad. These actions and others like them feed the reputation that the Clintons make their own rules or certainly play outside the rules that everyone else abides by. If practically anyone else in any other federal investigation had carried out these types of actions or practices, you have to think the outcome of the investigation would have been different.

It is what it is, but both of our major party candidates seem to act and say things that suggest they feel they are made of Teflon – and it is eroding the integrity of America and that is the saddest truth of all.
