Belly Dancers, Zither Player Grace International Day

Putting aside differences and coming together for the 15th straight year, Tyler Junior College has wrapped up another International Day.

The Dream Harem dance troupe entertained the crowd, performing Middle Eastern folkloric dance. Playing the ancient Chinese zither was a TJC student from a city outside Beijing.

"I'm very glad to share my culture with America," Yijun Liu, a freshman, said. "And I see the zither is not very, too much here. So I want to introduce it to you all and like to share our culture. It's wonderful."

Without even leaving East Texas, children and adults of all ages were able to take a trip around the world, visiting more than 50 countries represented today with displays of art, literature, and other cultural artifacts, as well as food.
