Restaurant Reports: Two restaurants get serious violations

Two East Texas restaurants got the most serious violations in the latest round of inspections by health officials. 

In Longview, inspected June 9, El Pollo Regio at 1903 west Loop 281.
Beef, chicken and sauces were held too warm.
Onions and sliced beef were not held warm enough.

Peppers were observed with mold growing on them.

Mold was seen growing on walls inside a walk-in cooler.
Waste water was seen dripping on a customer’s table.

 
Total demerits : 27
 
Inspected June 14, Fiesta Mexican Restaurant and Grill at 1015 East Marshall Avenue.
Rotting tomatoes were found in a cooler.

Bean and flower bins were not covered, and waste water was seen dripping down in a reach-in cooler.
Food contact surfaces, a storage area and prep utensils needed cleaning.
