Restaurant Reports: Serious violations for one Tyler restaurant

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

One East Texas restaurant was hit with serious violations in the latest health department inspection period.
In Tyler, Jersey Mike's #2 at 1690 South Beckham.
 
Inspection date: June 1

Pan of sliced tomatoes on the line observed with flies on them.
Employees seen changing tasks and donning gloves without properly washing their hands
2 pans of chicken observed dated 1 & 2 days too long on expiration date.
Flies observed in food prep area due to back door being left open and without proper screening. 
No certified food manager on the premises when inspector arrived. 
 
Many items such as tuna salad, guacamole and chicken salad stored in a walk-in cooler tested at temperatures higher than acceptable and
were tossed.

However, the inspector noted it was due to the air conditioning being out since the previous morning. It was repaired while the inspector was on the premises.

The violation was corrected when the inspector revisited the next day.
