NASCAR Fans Flock To Texas Motor Speedway

From the skyboxes, to the grandstand, to right down in the pits, Texas Motor Speedway expects to be overrun with NASCAR fans this weekend, as the track welcomes its first NASCAR event of the year.

Danny Adams wasn't much of a NASCAR fan when he came the first year to T.M.S.. He hasn't missed a race since then.

"TMS is what turned me into a NASCAR fan," Danny explains. "This was my first event to go to and have been a NASCAR fan ever since."

For the fans, this is their time. NASCAR inspires a fanatical following, with more than a quarter million fans expected to show at the oval.

"It is a unique experience, race fans are different," Garry Houston says. "They are very loyal, very committed. It is something totally different, and people can come and relate to cars."

"With guys, we love the muscle of them," Danny says. "They sound powerful, they are powerful, we love things that go fast."

Well, the sport is fast and accessible, and still growing in size. For the first time ever, T.M.S. hosts two Nextel Cup races this season, giving fans one more reason to come back to the track.
