Symphony Plays For Longview Kids

A lesson in appreciation for classical music was held today for grade schoolers in Longview. The "William Tell Overture" was part of the annual performance of the "Longview Symphony Orchestra", in a concert  designed to familiarize, and create interest in symphony music, and show kids that it's easy to listen to. Some have grown up with the annual event.
"Music is such a vital experience for children at this age, these are the people that in 20-30 years are going to be up here doing the same thing these people are, for their kids and kids in the community" says Longview resident Doug Shook, who attended the concert as a child.

The annual children's concert is made possible by funds from the Longview Symphony League.
