Fort Hood soldiers found dead after vehicle overturned in a flooded creek

FORT HOOD, TX (KXXV) -

The remaining four Fort Hood soldiers were found dead bringing the total to nine, after a vehicle overturned at a rain-swollen creek on post Thursday morning.

Fort Hood announced that all in the vehicle have now been recovered and the search has been discontinued.

The four bodies were recovered from the water downstream from the vehicle. Names of the deceased will not be released until 24 hours after all next of kin have been notified. 

Officials spent much of Friday searching for the remaining members. Thursday evening five soldiers were confirmed dead. Three soldiers who rode in the cab were rescued. They were hospitalized overnight and released Friday.

Twelve people were on board the light medium tactical vehicle when it overturned at the Owl Creek Tactical Low-Water Crossing on East Range Road Thursday morning.
