A big boost to the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Texas.
They got a donation today of more than $13,000. It came from Tyler's Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Kidd Jones.
The money was generated over the past year from sales of 20-ounce Coca-Cola bottles at 20 Kidd Jones stores in Tyler and Smith County. And the Boys & Girls Clubs say they're very appreciative.
"It provides a good opportunity for a lot of young kids in the East Texas area," Robbie Slocumb, executive director, said. "The money that was raised here will go to support after-school programs, our summer program, and a lot of operating expenses as well."
The Boys & Girls Clubs help more than 6,000 East Texas children every year.
