Morning News Fix: EgyptAir human remains suggest explosion

Good Tuesday morning East Texas. Hope your morning is off to a great start.

Here are a few stories to help jump kick your 'news knowledge' today:

1. Human remains retrieved from the crash site of EgyptAir Flight 804 have burn marks and are very small in size, suggesting an explosion on board may have downed the aircraft in the east Mediterranean, a senior Egyptian forensics official said Tuesday.

2. Several East Texas political races will be decided as the primary runoff takes place Tuesday. Candidates making a final push to the November general election must make it through one more round. Click here for more information on where to vote and what you need when you arrive at the polling station.

3. A bill inspired by an East Texas mother killed in a Marshall hotel room in 2013 was brought up for a potential vote in the House of Representatives Monday afternoon, and it passed. It will now move on to the Senate.

4. Scattered showers are back in the forecast Tuesday, but there's a better chance for rain by the end of the work week. With high pressure to our east and low pressure to our west, we're still under an unsettled weather pattern in East Texas today. This set up has our winds coming in from the south, pulling in that humid air into the region. As that moisture meets up with the heat of the day this afternoon, scattered showers and a few isolated storms will start to pop up. Highs will reach the upper 80s this afternoon. Most of us will be dry today, but for those of us who happen to have a shower fire up over their area, we could see around 0.25" of rain. For those of us who happen to have an isolated storm over their area, could see a brief downpour. Make sure you download the mobile weather app for all the latest watches and warnings, along with any new updates.
