Former High School Band Director Accused Of Exposing Himself To Child

A former high school band director has been arrested for indecency with a child.

42-year-old Monty Staton was band director at the Cross Roads ISD in Henderson County for six years until his resignation in December. That was the same month detectives in Smith County launched an investigation.

It's alleged he exposed himself on numerous occasions over the past couple of years to a 13-year-old boy whom he had known since the child was in kindergarten.

Staton has posted a $40,000 bond and is out of jail. Investigators say they don't know of any other possible victims.
