From mops attached to flip flops to an automatic toilet seat lifter, hundreds of gadgets are on display at LeTourneau University in Longview. It's the 19th Annual Invention and Design contest.
Kids from 2nd grade all the way to high school designed and created their inventions. One cut a cake into slices with one simple tool. Another invention is a motion-activated baby cradle. It's designed to make motherhood a little easier.
"I don't want moms to have to get up in the middle of the night just to rock their babies back to sleep. I want them to get the rest they need, because parents can wake up grumpy and annoyed," says Mary Ann Davis, a 3rd grader from Palestine.
You can take a look at all of the inventions tomorrow and Wednesday. They're on display at the Solheim Arena at LeTourneau University from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The winners will be announced Thursday.
