Hundreds Turn Out For "Healthy Family Affair"

East Texas doctors say a healthy family can be a happy one.
The folks at UT Health Center at Tyler were doing their part today to make sure families were in good health.
The center held their Healthy Family Affair Saturday.
The health fair included free screenings, seminars on dementia, fitness, sleep and diabetes. Parents could also learn ways to keep their children healthy. To keep up the family fun, there were jump rope teams, face painting and even a moon bounce for the kids.
Close to 1,000 people showed up for the event.
"It's been tremendously successful for UT Health Center," Kirk Calhoun, M.D., President of UT Health Center at Tyler. "We've had so many people come out, they're having such a great time and in fact the crowds have been so large we've had to give people tickets to come back and visit us again."
UT Health Center hopes to make the "Healthy Family Affair" an annual event.
