Neal McCoy Award

Neal McCoy's work in East Texas for more than a decade has been recognized nationally. Now, this local country music star is up for the "Home Depot Humanitarian Award" through the "Academy of Country Music." And you can help him win it.

McCoy was nominated for his work with the "East Texas Angel Network." The network has raised money for families with seriously ill children for the last 10 years.

The award was created 4 years ago to recognize country music artists who have a commitment to helping others. Past Winners include "Reba Mcintyre" and "Martina McBride."

To vote, go back to our home page on KLTV.COM and click on the know more on 7 icon. There, you'll see the Humanitarian Award link. The winner will be announced May 17. You can vote once a day.

The prize for the winner is a crystal trophy designed by "Tiffany and Company." Also, a community playground will be built in the city of the winners choice.

Neal McCoy is the featured entertainer for this year's Tyler Cattle Barons' June 11th, benefiting the American Cancer Society.
