Several thousand dollars worth of electronics have gone missing from a church.
On Saturday, Sharon Baptist Church discovered it'd been burglarized. The church is located in Wood County, between Quitman and Winnsboro, on Highway 37.
Church members cleaned up the broken doors and glass over the weekend, as well as file folders scattered across the floor.
They lost several items, including a TV, VCR-DVD player, a tape recorder, and three boom boxes. The church's fire-proof file cabinet was damaged.
The church pastor says they do have insurance and will work on replacing the items soon.
"It hurts you to think that someone would violate the Lord's house. But on the same hand, you pray for them. The Lord teaches us to forgive. And that's why this sign says 'Come feel the love,'" Pastor Dugger said, referring the church's outdoor sign.
Dugger says the church is working on improving security for the building.
The sheriff's department is investigating the burglary. They say they do have some leads, but no suspects yet.
