Ben Crum was 20-years-old when he joined the Army in 2001. He says he joined in case his country needed him in an emergency. That emergency came two years later and Crum was sent to Fallujah, one of the most dangerous areas in Iraq . Crum's job was to manage the fuel supply on his base. That meant issuing fuel out to the tankers and going out on fuel convoys. Ambushes, land mines, mortars and suicide bombers were constant dangers on the roads of Fallujah. Freedom Fighter Ben Crum credits prayer with his safe return home.
