Mother Of Injured Soldier: Local Man Confessed To Hit-And-Run

An update on the hit-and-run accident we've been following all week.

As you may remember, an East Texan who recently came home from the War in Iraq was critically injured in a wreck last Friday in North Tyler.

The mother of Matthew Roberts, 22, says a man has confessed to police that he was the driver of the SUV that hit Roberts on his motorcycle.

Police would not confirm that and would only say no one has been arrested.

Witnesses say the SUV's driver ran a stop sign when he hit Roberts.

The former Air Force load master is still in fair condition at ETMC.
