Lee Lady Raiders Dominating Competition

Whatever comes next, the Lee Lady Raiders are ready for it. The Lady Raiders are a school record 23-1-1 this year, in the top ten in the state, and in the top fifty in the nation. Senior forward Laura Durham says they are ready to raise the bar for Lee soccer.

"I feel really good about it," Laura says. "Nobody in the past years have done it. We finally have a team that can go all the way."

Laura's spent the last twelve years playing soccer, it's the only sport she plays. Next year, Laura will play college soccer at Lon Morris but for now, she likes this Lee team's chances. They've dominated the competition with 23 wins, 17 shutouts, and only eight goals allowed, the Lady Raiders have put their commitment into defense.

"We have eleven defenders on the field," sophomore midfielder Emily Arnold says. "We don't have a certain amount of attackers, and a certain amount of defenders. We defend as a team, we attack as a team, we're all proud of that."

And so, after outscoring the competition 84 to 8 in the regular season, and becoming the undefeated district champs, the Lady Raiders are ready for their next step into the playoffs.
