It may be another case of dog fighting in Tyler. A witness reported to police seeing men cheer as dogs fought in the backyard of a home in the 1600 block of Ross Avenue.
The witness told police the dogs were on leashes while two men allowed the dogs to bite and attack each other. Police say an officer found wounds on the two dogs at the home. The owner claims the dogs broke from their leash and fought each other on their own.
The investigation will continue.
Last week, an 18-year-old Tyler man was arrested for stealing family dogs and training them to fight.
