A Longview man has been indicted on charges of injury to a child in the death of his 2-year-old daughter in December.

On December 30, 2015, Longview police were called to the Contessa Inn on South Highway 31 after they received a call that a child may be injured in one of the rooms. When officers arrived, they discovered the mother of the 2-year-old had already taken her to the hospital.

When officers arrived at the Good Shepherd Medical Center, they found an unresponsive child being cared for by medical staff. Police say the girl was flown by helicopter to Dallas due to the severity of her injuries. Three days after she was taken to the hospital, the 2-year-old girl died.

The father of the child, Aaron Bowling, 26, of Longview, was arrested, charged with injury to a child with intent to commit serious bodily injury.

The mother of the child was also arrested and charged with abandoning/endangering a child by omission or felony criminal negligence.
