Army Reservist Honored For Service In Iraq

One year ago, Army Reserve Todd Orendorff was called up to go to Iraq. He just arrived home in Gladewater a week ago. The mayor of Gladewater welcomed him home today, announcing this Wednesday as Todd Orendorff day.

The 1988 Gladewater graduate says one of his missions was to ensure safety during the elections in Iraq. He says, now, he's just glad to be home. "All the little freedoms you have. You take them for granted for sure. When you get over there, there's lots of little things that you can't do. You can't go out on the road and do little things like go to the store.

Orendorff says he was glad he had the opportunity to serve our country in Iraq. He says he will do it again if the army calls him back.
