Lingo-Perkins Convicted And Sentenced

Two days after the trial began of 36 year old Desiree Dawn Lingo-Perkins, her fate is decided.

After less than one hour of deliberation today, the jury convicted Lingo-Perkins and handed down a life sentence.

She had been on the run since March of 2000 when she and 3 others kidnapped and murdered 18 year old, Kyle McElroy of Troup. A phone call to Kyle's father, believed to be from Lingo-Perkins, had demanded $200,000 dollars before Kyle's body was found.

Lingo-Perkins was captured near the Texas-Mexico border last October. Those three other men involved in the crime are already serving prison time.
