EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - We'll end 2015 on a chilly note and portions of East Texas could see showers for the start of 2016.
After starting our New Year's Eve in the 30s, we'll warm into the low 50s Thursday afternoon. Partly cloudy skies will continue, with winds out of the northeast around 5-10 mph.
Tonight, as a dip in the jetstream moves through the central plains, pulling in moisture into East Texas, we could see a few light showers through Friday morning. These showers will bring little to no accumulation, coming to an end before 8 a.m. New Year's Day.
We'll stay chilly for the start of the new year, with lows in the upper 30s and highs in the upper 40s.
By this weekend, our lows will be chilly, in the low to mid 30s, but our highs will warm into the mid 50s with mostly sunny skies.
Have a fun and safe New Year!
