Palestine police ID man arrested for trying to sell counterfeit gold coins

PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) -

The Palestine Police Department has identified a man arrested for attempting to sell counterfeit gold coins.

Jesse Stein, 32, of Jacksonville, is charged with forgery of a government instrument after a coin collector called police and tipped them off about suspicious gold coins Stein was trying to sell online. Police also found Stein in possession of counterfeit paper currency and several fake identification cards.

Stein remains in the Anderson County Jail on $50,000 bond.
