Cause Determined In Malakoff Fire

We now know the cause of the Malakoff Elementary School fire. Investigators believe an electrical failure in an extension cord started the fire. The blaze destroyed the building that houses Headstart through First grade. More than 250 students and 21 teachers are without classrooms. Total property loss estimates are close to 5 million dollars. Malakoff ISD Superintendent Larry Hulsey says all elementary students will resume classes tomorrow, at the alternative school campus one mile outside Malakoff.
