Analista: Rechazo el oleoducto Keystone XL tendra poco impacto en el este de Texas

(KLTV) – Presidente Obama rechazo el oleoducto Keystone XL el viernes, que término un debate polémico de siete años. La propuesta del oleoducto entregaría arenas petrolíferas canadienses a refinerías por la costa del Golfo. Porciones del oleoducto ya están operando en partes del este de Texas, alcanzando refinerías en el Golfo.

Pero ahora esa parte de Keystone XL Pipeline no será construida, un analista dice que el petróleo de Canadá no estará pasando por los oleoductos del este de Texas hacia las refinerías en Houston.

“No estoy sorprendido que esta es la manera en que el viento político ha estado soplando. Pero estoy decepcionado,” Dr. Ray Perryman, presidente del The Perryman Group, dijo.

“Esta oleoducto estaba muy bien planeado, y estudiado muy profundo. Iba a ser edificado en una forma segura, trabajando con las áreas locales que tuvieran preocupaciones,” él dijo.  

La compañía Canadiense, TransCanada, a  supervisando el proyecto de keystone desde el principio. Ellos publicaron una declaración el viernes, 6 de noviembre, diciendo “que es muy decepcionante ver la administración decir ‘si’ a otras importaciones de petróleo en Irán y Venezuela antes que de Canadá, el aliado más fuerte.”

Dr. Perryman no piensa que la decisión con respecto al Keystone XL tendrá un impacto en el flujo de petróleo del este de Texas.

“Supongo que probablemente las operaciones continuaran, dependiendo de los contractos y cosas de esa naturaleza. Esperarías que la operaracion continuaria porque es muy bueno, nuevo, y seguro oleoducto,” él dijo.

Anqué el oleoducto activo estará funcionando, residentes del este de Texas esperando que la terminacion del proyecto signifique menos arenas bituminosas en la área.

“Va hacer más y más difícil que las arenas bituminosas vengan al Este de Texas. Era una palabra de aliento, una palabra de esperanza. Nuestra esperanza va más alla de la decisión de Washington pero todo ayuda,” reverendo Kyle Chancellor, miembro de Resilient Nacogdoches, dijo.

 La decisión del viernes se alinea con los esfuerzos de la administración de Obama al respeto a las cuestiones ambientales, incluso los cambios del clima.
