One arrested in Longview burglary case

LONGVIEW, TX - On November 2, 2015 at 5:16 a.m., Longview Police were dispatched to a Vehicle Burglary in the 900 Block of Estes Drive. When they arrived they were told someone had stolen a bunch of carpentry tools out of a black utility trailer that belonged to a local business. Later in the day, Police were dispatched to a suspicious person in the 900 Block of Estes Drive. When officers arrived they spoke with a white male, identified as Steven William Shelton-Groves 22, of Longview. Shelton-Groves was in a truck that the owner of the tools believed may have been used in the burglary. After further investigation police were able to determine that several of the tools Shelton-Groves had in his possession were stolen from the trailer that was burglarized on November 2nd. Police also found a sawed off shotgun inside the truck. Shelton-Groves was arrested for Possession of Prohibited Weapon (F/3) and Theft (State Jail Felony). He was transported to the Gregg County Jail without further incident.
