EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - After a wet weekend, showers will linger over East Texas this morning before clearing by lunch.
The area of low pressure and the cold front that brought us the record breaking rain over the weekend is pushing to the east, into Louisiana. That low will take the rain with it as we head into this afternoon. Before then, heavy rain will continue over portions of Deep East Texas.
Flash Flood Watches remain in effect for Tyler, Jasper, and Newton Counties until 7 a.m.
You'll need your umbrella and a light jacket when you head out the door for school and work. We'll start our Monday in the 50s with showers. That chance for rain will come to an end by lunch time with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s this afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies will stick around all day.
This cooler weather won't last long. As the sunshine returns tomorrow, highs will jump back into the mid 70s. That will be the case through Thursday.
By Friday, another system will start to build into the region, bringing our next chance for rain. Those scattered showers and even a few storms, will continue throughout the upcoming weekend.
Have a great Monday!
