Longview Banker Gets Prison Term

A Longview banker has been sentenced to federal prison and ordered to pay back more than $350, 000 he helped defraud from the Longview Bank and Trust. Thursday, Leslie Howard Shipp was sentenced to 21 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to bank fraud.

Defense attorneys argued that the banker did not mishandle any funds for his own personal benefit, but that did not sway the jury. Shipp was a loan officer at the bank.
