EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Heavy rain has started to move into East Texas for our Friday morning.
A line of heavy rain, already leaving up to 3 inches, has moved into our northwestern counties early Friday morning. A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Delta and Hunt Counties until 5:30 a.m. This area could see an additional 1-2" through then.
Moisture streaming in from the Pacific and the Gulf, will continue over the region throughout the day, meeting up with a front. This will keep that heavy rain over all of East Texas today and through the weekend.
Flash Flood Watches have already been issued for Henderson, Anderson, Van Zandt, Kaufman, Rains, Hopkins, Hunt, and Delta Counties through Sunday morning. Rain totals could reach 2-5 inches, with isolated amounts up to 7 inches by then.
Highs will fall into the mid to upper 70s Friday. A cold front will move through Saturday night, into Sunday morning, dropping our highs into the low 70s for the end of the weekend.
Scattered showers and storms will continue through Wednesday, along with mostly cloudy skies.
